Whether you’re hoping to participate in the Bluecoats Drum & Bugle Corps in 2021, or you’re looking for constructive feedback from the educators at Bluecoats, this is the program for you! Submit a video below, and a member of the Bluecoats education team will send you customized feedback on the same rubric we use to achieve excellence at Bluecoats!
How To Submit A Video
First, practice and prepare the material
We have provided free guides for each instrument that covers what you should prepare on your video, and how to present your video. Download these guides first, and give yourself plenty of time to prepare. In addition to the material in these guides, there is material in the Techniques & Materials booklets that will be expected in your video, so we recommend that you purchase one if you haven’t already.
Next, record your video and upload it
RECORD
Record your video using your phone, a webcam, or a digital camera. Try to record somewhere with good light and plenty of space. The free guides above may provide additional tips on recording a great video for your type of video, including microphone tips and what (and what not) to edit.
UPLOAD
Upload your finished video to a video hosting service like YouTube or Vimeo. You can choose to make your video public, or to make it viewable with a link (unlisted). Do not make your video secret, or we won’t be able to see it. Here’s some tips from YouTube on making a video unlisted.
Finally, submit your video!
